Opening You're not unique.  Neither am I.  I'm programmed to consume just like we all are.  I've become increasingly disgusted with it of late.  The sleep mask has fallen from my eyes.  Some things that should have been immediately obvious have only just started to make sense. My (2 year old) vacuum cleaner seemed much worse recently.  When we first bought it, it seemed to almost pull the carpets off the floorboards, now it would do well to pull an accidental spill of talcum powder off a short-haired carpet.  The vacuum cleaner is an example, the full reality is much worse.
